Amanda Mills
Assistant Coach

Amanda Mills is in her second season sites paris sportifs suisse as Occidental women’s basketball assistant coach after spending the previous three years coaching high school and club basketball in Oregon.  As a high school coach, Amanda oversaw guard development, film breakdown, social media, and directed the strength and conditioning program.

Amanda’s playing career began at San Diego Mesa College, where she was named to the First-Team All-PCC.  She then transferred to NCAA Division I Presbyterian College, where she served as a captain for three years and left the program ranked 1st in career points scored.

Amanda graduated from Presbyterian with a degree in both Biology and History. She is looking to pursue a Masters in Kinesiology, and is CSCS certified. 

In addition to coaching, Amanda will serve as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for our department and she runs her own injury reduction program/sports performance training for athletes of all ages, known as Groundwork Performance Training. “I’m thrilled to have Amanda join our team.  Her playing and coaching experience, combined with her strength and conditioning background, made her a top candidate for us,” said head women’s basketball coach Anahit Aladzhanyan.

Christin Gowan
Assistant Coach

Christin Gowan joins the Oxy coaching staff 20bet en ligne as an assistant after a three-year stint as head assistant at NCAA Division II Cal State Stanislaus. Gowan joined newly hired head coach Wayman Strickland at Stanislaus in the Fall of 2012. 

Gowan was instrumental in the recruitment and development of 2013-2014 CCAA Freshman of the Year Ishiana Burch and coached 3 other all CCAA players during her previous tenure.

Prior to coaching, Gowan was a four-year starter on the Cal State Stanislaus basketball team from 2007 to 2011. During that time, Gowan turned in one of the best careers by a Warrior in recent years as a guard. In four seasons, Gowan tallied 947 points (5th on CSUS Career list) and 322 assists (2nd). She led the Warriors in assists for three straight seasons including 114 in 2010-11, which ties for second-best on the Stanislaus single-season list.

Gowan was a prolific three-point shooter as she twice led the team in 3-pointers, including 38 during the 2009-10 season. She holds the school record in free throw percentage with a 87.5 clip when she made 70 of 80 in 2007-08. Off the court, Gowan was a three-time CCAA All-Academic honoree and was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team in 2011.

Gowan spent her prep career at Manteca's East Union High School, where she was an League and District Most Valuable Player (2007).

Aside from her basketball career, Gowan is also a mathematics teacher at Santa Rosa Charter Academy.

Gowan obtained her teaching credential in Mathematics from Cal State Stanislaus in Dec. of 2011 after picking up a bachelor's degree in psychology in June of 2010, when she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also has a master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from University of Concordia in Irvine.

Cressida Mia Guanlao
Assistant Coach

Cressida Mia Guanlao 03’ returns to the Occidental meilleurs sites de paris sportifs suisse — parier en ligne College Women’s Basketball program after having a successful run as the head coach at Franklin High. Guanlao turned the Panthers program around, making playoff appearances under her leadership in each season.

Coach Guanlao is a proud Occidental Tiger, excited to return and contribute to the success of future Tigers. “I love bringing alumni back,” said Head Coach Anahit Aladzhanyan. “We have a keen understanding of how special Occidental is, and have a genuine passion of sharing the Occidental experience with current and future Tigers.” As a student-athlete at Oxy, Guanlao was a standout scoring point guard, leading the way in assists and 3-point shooting.

Off the court, Guanlao’s B.A. in Psychology, a multiple subjects teaching credential, and Master of Arts in Teaching Liberal Studies from Occidental College served her well in working as an LAUSD elementary lead teacher at Clifford Street Elementary in Echo Park. After attaining an additional Masters in Educational Administration, Guanlao is transitioning into an administrative role next school year.
